Javier's Dream Come True!

Javier, 17 with cerebral palsy received his dream come true at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children! Javier's doctor delivered the good news. The family will be receiving a dream trip to the Orlando theme parks and Sunshine Foundation's Dream Village. “We’re very excited for Javier and his family,” says Dr. McNesby. “We know that they will have a wonderful time in Orlando and we are looking forward to hearing about the trip upon their return.”

Omar's Dream Come True!

Omar, age 5 diagnosed with Down syndrome and seizures, from Beverly Hills, FL and his family are excited to be coming to the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village next week! They are looking forward to fun-filled days at Disney World, Universal
 Studios and SeaWorld Orlando! A special thank you to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners for allowing us to use the Central Ridge Community Center, and to our long-time friend, Kim, for sponsoring Omar's Dream!

Jasmine Gets a BIG Surprise

Jasmine, a nine year old from Sanford, FL and diagnosed with Sickle-Cell disease, came home to find a Dream Come True! She dreamed of a brand new bedroom, and she got it! The Batchelor Foundation out of Miami sponsored this dream of a new bed, dresser, night stand and TV! Our friends at T.J.Maxx also wanted to help enhance Jamine's dream. Employees from the stores througout Central Florida brought bedding, curtains, decor and artwork to transform her bedroom into a beautiful place for Jasmine to play and watch her favorite TV shows and movies! A special thank you to Wesh 2 News (NBC) and WKMG Local 6 News (CBS) for coming out to cover this surprise makeover! When asked what she thought of her new bedroom, Jasmine said she "had never felt like this before, so happy!"

Angel's Dream Come True

Henry, a past dreamer with medically resistant epilepsy, presented Angel with her Dream Come True of attending the NOAH Conference in San Diego, CA! The conference is this Summer, and is meant to spread awareness and support for children with albinism. When Angel isn't busy at the conference making new friends and having fun, she and her family will be vacationing at Sea World! All of us at the Sunshine Foundation are very grateful to all of those who support spreading Sunshine and making dreams come true for children with special health care needs!

Brian gets his Dream Come True!

Brian, a soon-to-be 4 year old with severe autism, received his dream come true this past week. The Sunshine Foudation partnered with the LongHorn Steakhouse in Warrington, PA, to grant Brian his dream of his very own iPad! Thanks to special apps developed for children with autism, Brian will be able to make leaps and bounds in his verbal and social skills! Also, Kailyn, a 7 year old with congenital join disease arthogryposis, was crowned Little Miss Sunshine by Emily Concepcion, the Sunshine Foundation Angel! Overall, it was a wonderful night filled with dreams come true! Thanks to everyone who came out!

Alex's Dream Come True

Alex, 8, with Bronchiopulmonary Dysplasia, a serious lung condition that has left him trach and vent dependent, was surprised by the All Volunteer Joan 'Jake' Miller Memorial Chapter with his dream come true yesterday Alex's dream was sponsored by the Chapter's Annual Cinco de Mayo Dance!

Ben's Dream Come True

Having just finished up his infusion, Ben was a bit tired but that didn't stop him from sharing that what he cannot wait to do when he gets to Florida is to see the penguins! Ben and his family will be spending a couple of days at Sea World and other theme parks while staying at Sunshine Foundation's Dream Village. Ben struggles with the challenges of having juvenile arthritis and as his mom shared, Ben looks like any other healthy 8 year old boy, but he tires easily because of his illness and cannot do the sports and activities that other children can do, which in turn can leave him out of many of the group functions other children and parents take for granted. What an awesome day! Gratitude to the Mitsouras family (family of past dream resicipent Ines) for presenting Ben with his dream package!

Pierce Aluminum Presents Xadriel's Dream Come True!

Thank you to Pierce Aluminum for hosting several fundraisers throughout the past year to answer Xadriel's dream of visiting the Dream Village and Central FL theme parks! The employees hosted a Dream Come True presentation for Xadriel and his family and presented him with some gifts as well as his dream packet!

Erik's Dream Come True

Sunshine Foundation's All Volunteer Hammonton Wishing Well Chapter recently surprised
Erik with his dream come true package. Erik is 9 years old and diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Leonardo's Birthday Dream Come True

Leonardo celebrated his birthday by having his dream come true presented to him by Ebonie at Texas Children's Hospital. Ebonie is a past dream recipient and presented Leonardo with the good news that he is receiving a dream trip to Sunshine Foundation's Dream Village and the Central Florida attractions!

Danielle and Ava's Dream Come True

 Bearing gift packages and colorful balloons, Shea, a 7 year old with Cerebral Palsy and Ron and Diane Jedlinksi from Roman Inc. will help to present Ava and Danielle, 5 year old best friends and spina bifida patients at Advocate Hope Children�s Hospital in IL with a Dream Come True. Both girls will be thrilled to learn they are visiting Orlando, Florida and the theme parks together with their families in August of this year. Sharing in this day will be their parents, grandparents, siblings, public spectators and other medical staff.


Francine's Dream Come True

Francine is 7 years old and has severe autism and is hearing impaired. Past Sunshine Foundation dream recipient Courtney presented the good news that she will be going on a dream come true trip to Sunshine Foundation's Dream Village and the Orlando theme parks!

Karen's Dream

Honeywell employees Char and Crystal organized an employee luncheon and ice cream social to help answer Karen's dream. Morgan's Wonderland and Sea World also contributed to this dream come true by generously providing tickets to Karen and her family. Karen is 6 years old and diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She is looking forward to her dream trip to San Antonio to visit Sea World and Morgan's Wonderland!

Jacah's and Ebonie's Dream Come True Presentation!

Ebonie is 4 years old and has Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus and a seizure disorder. Ebonie loves to spend time with her family, watch movies and go to school.  Jacah is 5 years old and has Encephalopathy, Cerebral Palsy and suffers from seizures. Both children received great news, that they would soon be traveling on a dream trip to visit the Central Florida attractions! The Dream Come True presentation took place at Texas Children's Hospital. The dream packages and balloons were presented by past Sunshine Foundation dream recipients, Priscilla and Heather Jo.

Donald's Dream

Sunshine Foundation surprises Donald with his Dream Come true! Donald is 7 years old and has Down Syndrome. Donald and his family will be going to the Dream Village and Orlando theme parks thanks to the All Volunteer Mercer County Chapter, who hosted their Annual Sunshine Fastpitch Softball Tournament to answer Donald's dream! Special thanks to tournament organizers and volunteers as well as friends of Sunshine Foundation, Brenda Wood & Gerry Wood, who presented Donald with his dream packet! DeAngelo's Dream

Dr. Francis Xavier McNesby, a pediatrician at The Center for Children with Special Needs at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, presented a special kind of medicine, "a Dream Come True" for one of his young patients, DeAngelo! DeAngelo is 3 years old and suffers from Brachio-oculo-facial syndrome, which requires that he breathe with assistance from a tracheotomy.

Kevin's Dream

Bringing balloons and gifts, Ron Jedlinski, retired CEO, Roman, Inc. and former board member of the Sunshine Foundation will be awarding 6 year old Kevin Cox a Dream Come True - a trip to Orlando, Florida for him and his entire family. As a result of this Dream Come True Kevin will gain some welcome relief from his grueling medical treatments.  

Diagnosed in April 2010, with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Kevin and his family, including mom Jessica Cox have faced some very rough times. In her words, "it has been a rough year." Jessica had to leave her job to care for her child and currently her income is below Federal poverty guidelines. However, she is resolved to see her son through his treatments and has hope for the future.

According to Jessica Cox, Kevin is a great kid, well-behaved and very happy. He loves his oncologist and someday he hopes to grow up and be an oncologist as well. He wants to help other kids just like him. He loves all the Disney characters especially Mickey Mouse, Woody and Lightning McQueen and Jessica knows he will be thrilled to visit Disney World with his mom, grandmother, cousin and brother. This will be the first big vacation that Kevin has ever gone on with his family.

Jessica Cox is so happy that her son's application was accepted by the Sunshine Foundation and said "I'm so happy for Kevin. I know he is going to be so excited to learn that he will be visiting Orlando in the first week of September.

Hannah's Dream

Michael's Dream

Sunshine Foundation provided Michael with a shopping spree to purchase items to make his life more comfortable.  Michaels dream was generously sponsored by CBIZ who hosted a luncheon and bake sale to raise funds to answer this special dream. Joey's Dream

Melanie Steen, a 10-year-old fifth grader at Hatfield Elementary School wanted to help a child on Sunshine Foundation's waiting list have their lifelong dream answered. She knew about these children from her grandmother Dianne Mazzeo, who has worked for the Sunshine Foundation since Melanie was an infant.  Melanie's tenacity paid off as Hatfield Elementary School hosted a canister campaign at the school raising over $800! Melanie along with her Principal D'Ana Waters and Melanie's brother, parents and grandmother, delivered Sunshine's Disney Vacation to 7 year old Joey.
Joey has Down Syndrome and Severe Autism.

Tianna's dream was answered through the 2nd Annual Boss's Challenge! Tianna is 13 and has Chronic Lung Disease. Past dream recipient Kadeja presented Tianna with her dream come true packet! Also present were Julius King, All Fitness, and Kate Sample, Sunshine Foundation President, who participated in Bosses Challenge to answer Tianna's dream!

Aiden's dream itinerary packet was presented by Fred & Rita Ohrn of Sunshine's All Volunteer Loveland Chapter! Aiden's dream of going to Disney was answered through the efforts of Gene Butcher's Hike for Dreams! Sunshine thanks Gene for raising funds for this special dream come true! Sunshine Foundation thanks Gene Butcher for raising funds on his charity hike of the High Path Trails of North Colorado. Along his hike he raised funds to send Aiden to Disney World. Aiden is from Colorado and has suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident last year.  Aiden's mom and family are overjoyed by the news of receiving a dream. "It's just really wonderful... When we got the call, we just cried," Aiden's mom. 


Sunshine Foundation's All Volunteer Wishing Well Chapter held their Annual Murder Mystery Dinner to answer Sam's Dream! They were at Sam's house to surprise him with his dream trip to Disney World! Sam is 16 years old and has muscular dystrophy.

Ellianna Presents Jennifer's Dream

Every year Todd Cloward and Brenda Wood, All Volunteer Mercer County
 Chapter Members, host the Sunshine Fastpitch Softball Tournament.

This year's Fastpitch answered Jennifer's dream. Jennifer is from Hamilton, NJ and has Cerebral Palsy. Her dream of going to the Dream Village and Orlando Attractrions was recently presented by the 2009 Sunshine Fastpitch Dream Recipient, Ellianna.

Dream Village trip with Jennifer to show her what she has to look forward to!

Also present were Tournament Directors, Brenda Wood and
 Todd Cloward, and Sunshine Foundation staff!

Long-Time Volunteer, Hank Blaszczyk,  Presents Daniel's Dream

Sunshine Foundation hand delivered a dream to Daniel, an 11 year old boy from Runnemede, NJ, who has severe autism. The good news was made in person by Bill Sample, Sunshine Founder and President Emeritus, and long-time volunteer, Hank Blaszczyk! This is the first of many dreams that will be hand delivered in Sunshine's exciting new Dream Come True Program! "We hope these personal visits will bring excitement about the dream-come-true for the children and their families and show them how much Sunshine cares," says Bill Sample. Daniel's dream vacation to Disney World is scheduled in September. The family will stay at Sunshine's Dream Village!
